My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Brother-in-Law Material is bursting with fake relationships, my favorite trope.
It took almost half the book for me to really get into the story as there were a few things that stood out and made the story a bit too unbelievable for me. Kiera and Luke have been together for years, but Kendall knows virtually nothing about Luke. I would think someone would know a sibling’s long-term significant other better than Kendall seems to know Luke. Plus, Luke and Kiera live together but have separate bedrooms? The separate bedrooms situation was never questioned or explained, as far as I recall.
Putting those issues aside, I did come to enjoy Kendall and Luke’s relationship and Luke’s jealous streak. His interactions with his cousin and the ex were highly entertaining. I am hoping Mizuki gets a book because he was fantastic.
